ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHIC DESIGN AND WAYFINDING
With over 35 years experience in the fields of environmental graphics and wayfinding, yazi provides complete design and management services including: wayfinding analysis and recommendations for interior and exterior spaces; creation of wayfinding plans including sign type development, sign locations and sign message schedules; design and development of signage including design intent documents, sections and details; complete project management services including review of shop drawings, prototypes, work in progress and project installation.
BRAND IDENTITY
At yazi, we know that when it comes to branding your business it’s important to create a unique identity that is memorable, identifiable, relevant and most importantly, used consistently across all aspects of your business. We will help insure that your final brand represents your value proposition; expresses your visual style and core values; and speaks in a clear voice to your audience. Our services include brand conceptualization, design development, creation and implementation across a variety of physical and media applications.
PUBLICATION DESIGN
We bring decades of print design experience and expertise to every client and project. Over the years yazi has designed a large variety of publications for corporate, cultural, non-profit and municipal clients including annual reports, brochures, catalogs, books, flyers, advertisements, invitations, programs and more. Our services include conceptual design, layout, camera-ready artwork creation, printing estimates and project management.
WEB DESIGN
The world-wide web is a vital portal to your customers, and an extension of your brand and message. At yazi, we can help you develop an online presence that communicates your message to the world around you. Our services include site structure, navigation and content outlines, planning, concept development, site architecture recommendations, content creation, and art direction.
PHOTOGRAPHY
We provide select photography services to our clients including architectural, interior, commercial, site and environmental photography. Several of our clients have hired yazi to provide professional photography for their publications, annual reports, presentations, and web sites. Our services include onsite photography, location scouting, digital re-touching, image optimization, and digital printing.
Our Founder.
CHRIS ROGERS
Owner and Principal
Chris founded yazi in the summer of 2000, and is the studio’s heart and soul. He brings over thirty years of award-winning local, national and international branding, graphic design, and environmental graphic design and wayfinding experience to the firm. A love for art and creation has been a constant thread in his life and that passion is evident in his exceptional body of design work.
Born and raised in Lexington, Massachusetts he moved to Miami in 1985 after graduating with honors from Boston University with an SFA in graphic design. Chris served for many years as the Managing Creative Director for a successful design studio in Coral Gables, Florida—where he designed and managed environmental graphic design & wayfinding projects for the firm’s largest clients including Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Universal Studios Florida, Biltmore Hotel, and Celebrity Cruise Line.
Over the past twenty years, Chris and yazi have completed complex environmental graphic design & wayfinding projects for a variety of public and corporate projects including the City of Columbia SC, Town of Surfside, City of Pembroke Pines, City of Fort Lauderdale, Doral Design District, Downtown Kissimmee Master Plan, CocoWalk, Aventura Mall, Miami River Greenway, Bayfront Park Master Plan, Aventura ParkSquare, Mercato Naples, CityPlace, Sole Mia, Calder Casino & Racetrack, Fontainebleau Aviation, the University of Miami, and Town Square Las Vegas.
Past and current clients include the Archdiocese of Miami, BMW of North America, The Brickellian, City of Miami, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, Florida International University, Miami International Film Festival, Mama Jennie’s Restaurant, American Red Cross, Lowe Art Museum, Lefrak, Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation, Madison Marquette, Frost Science Museum, The Related Group, Experience Columbia SC, Trust for Public Land, and Turnberry Associates.
In 1996, Chris designed the award winning brand identity for the Miami City Ballet. In that same year he also won a competition to design the poster for the Miami Olympic Soccer venue, a part of the Summer Olympic games in Atlanta.
In 2000 and 2001, Chris served as the Art Director for the Miami International Film Festival and was a member of the festival’s organizing committee. He also established the Festival’s first web site in 1996, and remained its principal designer through 2001.
Chris is a professional member of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design.
