NORTH MIAMI, FLORIDA

Sign Ordinance Creation, Sign Criteria and Design Guidelines, Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics for Turnberry and LeFrak’s New Planned Community.

Sole Mia is a 184-acre master-planned community set to rise in North Miami – just south of Aventura – on the largest remaining parcel of undeveloped land in South Florida east of Biscayne Boulevard. A joint venture between Turnberry Associates and LeFrak, Sole Mia is poised to become South Florida’s next iconic neighborhood. In December of 2016 we began working with Turnberry to develop both an amendment to the City of North Miami’s sign ordinance and comprehensive sign criteria and design guidelines for the new community that defines and regulates all exterior signage within the legal boundaries of Sole Mia. Our future work will include the planning and design of all property identity and community wayfinding.

AVENTURA PARKSQUARE

AVENTURA, FLORIDA

Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics for a New Upscale Multi-Tenant Complex in Aventura.

Aventura ParkSquare, presently under construction, is a new project developed by Integra Investments and designed by Zyscovich Architects and features luxury residential and senior apartments, high-end offices, a Starwood Aloft Hotel, state-of-the-art wellness center, and 55,000 sq. ft. of retail featuring a variety of restaurants and cafes. Integra brought us on board early in the project to plan and design the multitude of wayfinding needed for this five building complex. We created a tenant criteria manual for their retail tenants and worked closely with the project architect and City of Aventura to design a signage program that will brand the project and inform and direct its visitors. We developed a special sign package submission for the City, and assisted our client with the review, variance, and approval process—gaining praise from the City Commission for elevating the sign standards within the City of Aventura.

ROSENSTIEL SCHOOL OF MARINE AND ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCE

VIRGINIA KEY, FLORIDA

Exterior Wayfinding Program for the University of Miami's Virginia Key Campus.

The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is a 16 acre campus on Virginia Key in Miami and is the University of Miami’s college and research institute for the study of oceanography and the atmospheric sciences. Working closely with the University we have designed a new exterior wayfinding program for the Rosenstiel campus that includes a uniform system of pedestrian orientation and directional signs, building identity, and vehicular directionals. We recently completed the design of a Rosenstiel campus map that will be featured on the new orientation signs and published in a hand held paper version in a format similar to existing maps for the Coral Gables and Medical campuses.

RIDGEPORT LOGISTICS CENTER

WILMINGTON, ILLINOIS

Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics for an Expansive New Logistics Center South of Chicago.

RidgePort Logistics Center is an 18 million square foot master-planned park located on more than 1,500 acres and located less than 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The Center provides unparalleled advantages to its clients through its superior amenities and location including three miles of frontage on I-55 and a connection to BNSF Railway’s Transcontinental mainline. With portions of the phase 1 construction already complete and operational, our client Elion Partners turned to us to develop a wayfinding plan and strategy that will brand the immense project, and to design the trailblazing, gateway, identity, and directional signage that will efficiently guide the large volume of truck traffic to its destinations without disrupting the surrounding residential community.

LOWE ART MUSEUM

UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI, CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA

Publication Design for Miami's Oldest and Most Comprehensive Art Museum.

The Lowe is a loyal long-time client of ours and there is hardly a moment when we don’t have something in the works for the museum. Our current workload includes the design of announcements, invitations, and catalogs for several upcoming events and exhibitions, as well as the latest edition of their bi-annual magazine that will be published this Fall.

AVENTURA MALL

AVENTURA, FLORIDA

Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics for the New Expansion of One of America’s Largest Lifestyle Centers.

In 2007 we completed a successful re-design of the signage and wayfinding at the mall for our client Turnberry Associates. When they revealed their plans for a massive $200 million expansion, Turnberry again tasked us to design and develop the wayfinding for the Carlos Zapata designed three-story expansion wing and adjoining parking garage. The new expansion, a modern departure from the existing mall spaces, is scheduled to open in late 2017.

17 WEST

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA

Project Naming and Branding for a New Mixed-Use Residential and Retail Development on Miami Beach.

17 West is a five-story mixed use building fronting 17th Street and West Avenue with 25,598 square feet of retail, 23 modern apartments and over 200 parking spaces. The project, a joint venture between Rock Soffer of Turnberry Associates and Elion Partners, along with members of the Sredni family, recently broke ground and will feature the first Trader Joe's on Miami Beach as well as additional retail, including several boutique restaurants. Rock Soffer brought us on board late last year to brand the property and assist with the design of a variety of collateral materials. Our first task was to establish a name for the property, one that was unique and marketable to future tenants and residents. We performed a complete analysis of the existing and planned developments in the area, examined market trends, discussed local appeals and prejudices and their target demographics. We proposed a variety of different location-based and brand-based naming possibilities and worked with the partners to reach consensus on the final name and brand.
