Margaritaville at Sea Islander

A RAPID CONVERSION

In November 2023, we travelled to Italy to survey the conditions onboard the newly aquired ship. We spent four days documenting the existing conditions; photographing and measuring the existing signs; recording the existing sign messages; and scouting and recording all possible new sign locations for re-branded spaces. The Costa Atlantica was a much larger ship than Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, and once again we had less than 5 months to design and execute the complete re-branding of the vessel. Like the Paradise project the year before, an expert team was assembled to transform the ship to Islander. We worked closely again with The McBride Company, who are responsible for the interior design of all the Margaritaville properties, to create graphic solutions that could be implemented both quickly and effectively within the allocated budget and short time frame.

MAKING IT HAPPEN

Because of the massive number of signs that needed to be fabricated in short order, the project was split between two european sign fabricators. We created all of the final specification documents, as well as all of the actual artwork needed to fabricate the new signs. All of the existing signs were retrofitted with new Margaritaville themed graphic panels, and new directories and directional signs were added to improve the visitor experience. All of the life safety signs onboard required updating, and all of the public room identity signs were replaced with the new Margaritaville branded signs that we helped to develop.
